I am always all in for finding a good deal, and with so much going on in and around the city I often have to challenge myself to stick to a budget without limiting any fun.

Whether you’re getting a group of friends together to hangout, looking for fun and affordable date ideas, or simply wanting to get out and try something new yourself, I wanted to share some of my money saving tips for really getting the most out of our city.
I went ahead and compiled a list of 10 unique things to do in Harrisburg for $10 or less. Give one or all of them a try!
- Try a Pay-What-You-Can Yoga Class

Located in Midtown, CommUNITY Yoga Space offers pay-what-you-can yoga all throughout the week, meaning for $10 or less you can easily fit a class into your schedule.
2. Catch a Special Event Showing at Midtown Cinema

You can make Midtown Cinema a $10 affair any night of the week, but get the most bang for your buckduring ‘Down in Front!’ or Third in the Burg Showings. Every second Friday, Midtown Cinema hosts ‘Down in Front!’ which screens the best worst movies with live commentary ripping the movie apart. Best part, these films are only $5 leaving room for snacks or popcorn.
For an alternative and even cheaper deal, check out the cinema’s Third in the Burg showing every third Friday of the month. For $3 you can catch classic films from the past.
3. Eat Up at $2 Taco Tuesday

Every week Café 1500 hosts $2 taco Tuesday featuring a different gourmet taco option. If you go during happy hour between 5 and 7 p.m you can squeeze in two tacos and a happy hour beverage for $10! The taco deal runs all night until sold out … and no judgment if you load up on tacos only.
4. Attend an Event at Zeroday Brewery

Throughout each month, Zeroday hosts free eventslike boozy bingo and trivia nights, or themed events like ‘The Office Party.’ Make the most of these events and grab a beer or a flight to make it an affordable afternoon or evening.
5. Watch a Senator’s Baseball Game
Score tickets to a Senator’s baseball game on City Island for only $9. You can park on the Island, or take the walking bridge by foot or bike.
6. Rent a Zagster Bike

There’s no better way to cruise around the city, and most importantly on Front St., than by bike! For $2 an hour you can rent a Zagster bike from one of their many docking stations around town. Download the Zagster app and you’re set to go!
7. Take a Hike
With a few really good trails surrounding us, make an after work or weekend trip to do some hiking! Chickies Rock is close by and a short, easy hike making for a great sunset picnic hike. Pole Steeple is a little under an hour away, and a more moderate hike with a worth-it view. Or for a more difficult hike, check out Colonel Denning, also about an hour away, for an incredible view. Pack a lunch or stop at Sheetz on your drive out for a hoagie!
8. Spend Time at the Susquehanna Art Museum

Spend time immersed in art and culture at the Susquehanna Art Museum in Midtown. For $8 you get full admission to the museumfor the day, or if you time it right they often have free admission during Third in the Burg.
9. Enjoy a Picnic at Negley Park or on City Island
You can’t wrong with views of Harrisburg or a picnic for that matter. Pack a picnic lunch or sunset dinner/snack to enjoy from either Negley Park or City Island. Both spots boast breathtaking views of the Harrisburg skyline.
10. Catch a Concert at Club XL
With many artists in the line-up, peruse the events schedulefor shows under $10. You can find some shows that only charge a $5 or $10 cover, making for an evening of inexpensive entertainment.
